Google Cloud Next 2026: Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and eighth-gen TPUs launched

At Google Cloud Next '26, Google announced the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, an end-to-end system for building, scaling, governing, and optimizing AI agents. The platform includes Agent Studio (low-code interface), ADK with graph-based sub-agent framework, and access to Gemini 3.1 Pro, Gemini 3.1 Flash Image, Lyria 3, and Claude Opus 4.7. Google also launched two eighth-generation TPUs: a training chip delivering 2.8x performance over 7th-gen Ironwood at the same price, and an inference chip (TPU 8i) with 80% better performance and 384MB SRAM (3x Ironwood). Google Cloud reported 63% revenue surge, outpacing Amazon and Microsoft, with models processing over 16 billion tokens per minute via direct API. A $750M partner fund was announced. Workspace Intelligence brings agentic AI into Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Meet, and Drive with Canvas co-creation and Microsoft 365 interoperability.
