Adobe launches Firefly AI Assistant in public beta with cross-app creative agent

Adobe's Firefly AI Assistant entered public beta on April 27, 2026, powered by Adobe's creative agent that orchestrates multi-step workflows across Creative Cloud apps. Users describe desired outcomes in natural language and the assistant executes complex workflows across Photoshop, Premiere, Firefly, Lightroom, Express, Illustrator, and more. The assistant learns creator preferences over time and maintains context when switching between apps. It includes Creative Skills — pre-built agentic workflows launchable with a single prompt — and integrated review via Frame.io. The public beta is available globally for Creative Cloud Pro and paid Firefly plan customers. Adobe is also working to bring its creative tools to third-party AI models like Claude. This represents a shift from tool-based to intent-based creative workflows.
