Anthropic is asking investors to submit allocations within 48 hours for a funding round expected to total approximately $50 billion at a valuation of $900 billion or more, according to sources familiar with the matter. The round, which could close within two weeks, would be Anthropic's last private fundraise before a potential IPO later this year. This follows Anthropic's $30 billion Series G round in February 2026 at a $380 billion valuation. The company's annual revenue run rate has surpassed $30 billion, up from roughly $9 billion at the end of 2025, with internal figures suggesting it is closer to $40 billion. A large portion of that revenue is driven by Claude Code and Cowork platforms. If the round closes at $900 billion, Anthropic would surpass OpenAI's $852 billion post-money valuation from its $122 billion round earlier this year. Some early backers from 2024 and before are reportedly skipping this round, preferring to wait for the anticipated IPO.
