Ukraine has deployed AI-powered autonomous point-defense turrets across more than 10 frontline military units to counter fiber-optic-controlled drones that resist electronic warfare jamming. The system, developed by UGV Robotics through Ukraine's Brave1 defense innovation ecosystem, is based on the 7.62mm Khyzhak weapon station codified by Ukraine's Ministry of Defence in July 2025. The AI autonomously detects, tracks, and calculates flight paths of incoming drones; operators only confirm engagement via a single button press. The turret carries 700 rounds and can theoretically intercept over 100 drones per ammo load. It made its combat debut with the K-2 Brigade.
