Discord Enables End-to-End Encrypted Voice and Video Calling for All Users

Discord rolled out end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for voice and video calls across its entire platform, covering hundreds of millions of users. The implementation means that not even Discord's servers can access the content of calls — only the participants hold the decryption keys. The move brings Discord in line with Signal and WhatsApp's encryption standards for real-time communications. Discord has offered E2EE in limited forms before, but this expansion to all voice and video calls represents a significant privacy upgrade for the platform, which is widely used by gaming communities, open-source projects, and professional teams.
