Amazon announced Amazon Supply Chain Services (ASCS), opening its freight, distribution, fulfillment, and parcel shipping capabilities โ including 100+ cargo planes, 80,000 trailers, and 24,000 intermodal containers โ to businesses of all sizes across retail, healthcare, and manufacturing. Early adopters include Procter & Gamble, 3M, Lands' End, and American Eagle Outfitters. UPS and FedEx shares fell over 10% in midday trading on the announcement. Amazon VP Peter Larsen compared the move to what AWS did for cloud computing, turning a cost burden into an infrastructure product.
