Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated the company has gone from 95% to effectively 0% AI chip market share in China, calling successive US export controls 'already largely backfired.' Speaking at a Citadel Securities event, Huang said the restrictions have accelerated China's domestic semiconductor development, with Huawei Ascend chips filling the gap. Bernstein analysts estimate Nvidia's China AI GPU share could fall from 66% in 2024 to approximately 8% in coming years. The decline follows escalating US export restrictions from 2022 (A100/H100) through 2026 (H200 with 25% tariff).
