Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated at a Citadel Securities event that the company's AI accelerator market share in China has dropped from 95% to 0%, and that US export restrictions 'have already largely backfired.' Bernstein analysts estimate Nvidia's China AI GPU share will fall from 66% in 2024 to approximately 8% in coming years, as domestic vendors like Huawei Ascend cover up to 80% of Chinese demand. Nvidia recognized $4.5 billion in charges tied to export restrictions in Q1 FY2026. China previously represented 20–25% of Nvidia's data center revenue. Huang added that in all Nvidia forecasts, 'we're assuming 0% for China.'
