Anker-Backed Evotrex Raises $30M to Build Off-Grid Hybrid RV
Tags Consumer · Infrastructure

Evotrex, a two-year-old Los Angeles startup backed by Anker, raised $30 million in Series A funding (total raised: $46M) to bring its PG5 hybrid electric RV to market. The PG5 uses an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) hybrid system where an onboard gas engine recharges the battery pack, targeting production of approximately 1,000 units annually. Ninety percent of existing orders are for the fully loaded Premium trim priced at approximately $160,000. Manufacturing will occur in China with final assembly in California, with first deliveries planned for 2027.
Technical significance
Evotrex's hybrid approach addresses the fundamental range anxiety problem that limits all-electric RV adoption, using a gas generator as a range extender rather than relying solely on battery capacity. The $160K price point positions it as a premium product, but the 90% take rate on the Premium trim suggests strong market demand for off-grid capable RVs. The Anker backing brings consumer electronics supply chain expertise to the RV manufacturing challenge.
