Anthropic and OpenAI announced separate enterprise AI joint ventures on the same day, each partnering with major asset managers to deploy AI across portfolio companies. Anthropic's JV, valued at $1.5B, is backed by Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, and Goldman Sachs, with $300M commitments each from Anthropic, Blackstone, and Hellman & Friedman. OpenAI is raising $4B from 19 investors including TPG, Brookfield, Advent, and Bain Capital for The Development Company, valued at $10B, with a 17.5% guaranteed annual return over five years and a mandate to embed forward-deployed engineers inside client organizations targeting healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, and financial services.
