KKR secured over $10B in commitments to launch Helix Digital Infrastructure, a company that will design, build, own, and operate AI data centers, power generation, and connectivity for hyperscalers. Former AWS CEO Adam Selipsky will lead as CEO, with KKR's Waldemar Szlezak as CIO. The startup has backing from sovereign wealth funds and strategic partners. KKR already co-owns data center developer CyrusOne with Global Infrastructure Partners. The move represents one of the largest private equity bets on AI physical infrastructure.
