AI coding startup Cursor (Anysphere) is in talks to raise at least $2 billion at a pre-money valuation exceeding $50 billion, nearly doubling its $29.3 billion post-money valuation from five months ago. Andreessen Horowitz and Thrive Capital are expected to co-lead, with Nvidia and Battery Ventures also participating. The deal is already oversubscribed though terms are not final. Cursor forecasts ending 2026 with over $6 billion annualized revenue run rate, up from $2 billion in February 2026. Main competitor Anthropic Claude Code has a $2.5 billion run rate with 300,000+ business customers. Cursor launched its own inference model in November 2025 to reduce third-party dependency.
