Microsoft Business Skills for Dataverse lets companies encode processes for AI agents
Tags AI · Enterprise · Developer Tools

Microsoft announced Business Skills for Dataverse in public preview as of May 1, allowing companies to encode processes, policies, and domain expertise as natural-language instructions that AI agents can discover and follow at runtime. Skills are defined once in Dataverse -- any agent can use them, and updating a skill applies changes everywhere. The system works with the Dataverse MCP server and is governed with sharing/visibility controls. Business Skills are available across Copilot Studio, GitHub Copilot, VS Code, Azure AI Foundry, and any MCP-compatible client. Microsoft also released Dataverse Skills, an open-source plugin for coding agents. A new AI Agent Builder Associate certification (Exam AB-620 beta) was simultaneously introduced.
