VS Code 1.118 and GitHub Copilot updates: remote CLI control, GPT-5.2 deprecation, semantic search expansion

Microsoft released VS Code 1.118 on April 29 with Copilot agent upgrades: remote control of CLI sessions from GitHub.com or mobile, semantic indexing in all workspaces (not just GitHub/ADO repos), dedicated skills context, enterprise controls to restrict AI feature access, and improved token efficiency. Chat session titles now sync between VS Code and Copilot CLI. GitHub deprecated GPT-5.2 and GPT-5.2-Codex models across all Copilot experiences (with exceptions for GPT-5.2-Codex in agent mode). Copilot CLI v1.0.40 shipped with signed builds for Darwin, Linux, and Windows on both ARM64 and x64.
