The Army and Joint Interagency Task Force 401 announced 10 multiple-award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts for detect-to-defeat counter-UAS equipment under the Domestic Shield program, with a combined ceiling of $4.15 billion. Seven firms - Allen Control Systems, Digital Force Technologies, DroneShield, Napatree Technology, RADA Technologies, SRC Inc. and L3Harris WESCAM - received $500 million ceilings each, Echodyne and PVP Advanced EO Systems received $250 million each, and SmartShooter received $150 million. Only about $50 million was obligated at award, according to reporting attributed to the Army and Defense One. The Army has now awarded more than $5 billion against Domestic Shield's $7 billion ceiling.
Technical significance
The gap between the $4.15 billion ceiling and roughly $50 million obligated at award means the headline figure is a procurement option, not committed spending, and vendors will compete order by order. The detect-to-defeat scope - spanning smart optics, robotic weapon stations, radar and tracking cameras - signals the Pentagon is buying an integrated counter-drone stack rather than single products.
