Tanner Health becomes first US system to deploy PMcardio's Queen of Hearts AI ECG model

Tanner Health deployed Powerful Medical's PMcardio platform across west Georgia and east Alabama, marking the first commercial US deployment of Queen of Hearts, an FDA-authorized AI ECG model for urgent acute coronary syndrome. The rollout brings the technology into routine care days after its FDA De Novo authorization in September 2026, which established a new device classification for AI ECG models targeting acute, life-threatening cardiovascular diagnoses. PMcardio integrates with Tanner's Epic electronic health record and EMS workflows, embedding the AI assessment as secondary support to clinical decision-making. Queen of Hearts previously received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation in March 2025.
Technical significance
A De Novo classification for AI ECG models creates a regulatory template other vendors can follow, which may accelerate approvals in acute cardiac care. Embedding the model in EMS and Epic workflows is what lets the assessment reach patients before they arrive at a cardiac center.
