Nigeria's Aeon raises $1M pre-seed for Global South cyberdefence
Tags Security · Startups

Aeon, a Nigerian cybersecurity startup, raised $1 million in pre-seed funding led by Terra Industries, with Resilience17, DFS Labs, Kaleo Ventures, Seedstars and Ajim Capital participating. Aeon sells Aeon Edge, a hardware unit that secures networks and data at the perimeter, and Aeon Console, an AI-driven portal that monitors code, cloud environments and endpoints and handles compliance reporting. The startup was founded by three engineers who came out of PipeOps, and is running pilots with Nigerian banks and cloud infrastructure companies. Terra and Aeon have set up a joint venture to bid for corporate and government contracts across the Global South.
Technical significance
Combining perimeter hardware with an AI monitoring console targets the fragmented-tooling problem common in emerging-market enterprises, where operators often run many security products with no unified view. The joint venture with a hardware maker signals a go-to-market built around sovereign, locally assembled infrastructure.
