Armadin, the AI hacking startup founded by Mandiant creator Kevin Mandia, raised $255.5 million in a Series B co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Accel at a valuation above $2.5 billion. Bain Capital Ventures and Redpoint joined as new investors, with 8VC, Ballistic Ventures, GV, In-Q-Tel, Kleiner Perkins and Menlo Ventures also participating. The round brings Armadin's total funding to $445 million, including $189.9 million of combined seed and Series A announced March 10. The company says its swarm chained 38 validated attack paths and produced 238 security findings; the announcement named no customer and gave no revenue figure.
Technical significance
A $2.5B+ valuation for an autonomous offensive-security platform reflects investor conviction that AI agents can automate penetration testing and vulnerability discovery at a scale human teams cannot match. Armadin's $445M total tops comparable raises by Horizon3 ($428.5M) and XBOW ($270M+), suggesting capital is concentrating behind a few agentic-security vendors. The absence of disclosed customers or revenue means the valuation rests on capability claims — 38 chained attack paths and 238 findings — that independent testing has not yet corroborated.
