San Francisco-based Flow Engineering, a three-year-old startup building AI tools for hardware design, raised a $50 million Series B at a $750 million valuation, announced Oct 2, 2026. The round was co-led by Antonio Gracias of Valor Equity Partners and Gavin Baker of Atreides Management, with Sequoia Capital — which led Flow's Series A last October — also participating. Former Sequoia partner Roelof Botha invested as an individual and joined the board. Flow's AI agents align CAD drawings with product requirements, simulation results and testing data; customers include Anduril, Rivian, Joby Aviation, Stoke Space, GM PPU and RV Tech.
Technical significance
Applying AI agents to hardware design — reconciling CAD, requirements, simulation and test data — targets a bottleneck that software-only AI tooling has largely bypassed. A $750M valuation for a three-year-old company, backed by investors with deep Musk-adjacent and defense exposure, signals conviction that physical-product engineering is the next domain for agentic automation. The customer list spanning defense, EV, aviation and space suggests early traction in sectors where iteration cycles are expensive, though no revenue figures were disclosed.
