Anthropic commits $100M to train 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers by end of 2027

Anthropic launched Claude Frontier Academy, a $100 million program to train 10,000 'Frontier Deployed Engineers' by the end of 2027 through a 12-week residency modeled on medical training. First cohorts are drawn from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk, with first Claude Frontier Deployed Engineer badges expected in early 2027. The program builds on the Claude Partner Network, which Anthropic says spans 46,000 firms, 175,000+ Claude certifications and nearly 4,000 Basecamp completions. Cohorts are running in San Francisco, New York and London.
Technical significance
Anthropic is investing directly in the deployment labor market for frontier models, betting that enterprise adoption is bottlenecked by engineers who can integrate models into real workflows rather than by model capability. The medical-style residency and credentialing create a pipeline tied to Anthropic's partner network, which may deepen enterprise lock-in as certified engineers standardize on Claude. For the broader AI services market, it signals that systems integrators and consultancies are becoming the distribution channel for frontier models.
